The 2026 Parade of Pronghorns live auction is almost here, and we know not everyone who wants to participate will be able to attend in person.
While we will not be offering online bidding during the live auction, the Rockpile Museum Association can accommodate both telephone bids and proxy bids for interested buyers who are unable to join us on September 10.
If there is a life-size pronghorn or artist-created euro mount you have your eye on, we encourage you to contact us before the auction so we can get your information, confirm the piece or pieces you would like to bid on, and make arrangements in advance.
Telephone Bidding
Telephone bidding allows you to participate in the live auction in real time, even if you cannot be at the Rockpile Museum.
A representative will arrange to contact you during the auction and relay the bidding as it happens. You can then decide whether you would like to continue bidding just as you would if you were standing in the crowd with a bidder number.
Because telephone bidding requires some coordination during the live event, advance arrangements are required.
Proxy Bidding
Proxy bidding is a good option for anyone who cannot attend and does not need to follow the auction live.
With a proxy bid, you provide us with the piece you are interested in and the maximum amount you are willing to bid. A representative will then bid on your behalf during the auction, up to your authorized maximum.
Providing a maximum bid does not mean that amount will automatically be used. The representative will bid only as needed during the live auction, up to the limit you provide.
What Can I Bid On?
Telephone and proxy bidding will be available for artwork included in the Parade of Pronghorns live auction, including:
- The 10 one-of-a-kind life-size pronghorn sculptures
- The artist-created pronghorn euro mounts
Each piece has been individually created by a participating artist and will be sold during the live auction.
How Do I Arrange a Telephone or Proxy Bid?
If you are interested in either option, please contact the Rockpile Museum Association before September 10. Your best bet would be to call Tara at 307-299-1540.
Let us know:
- Your name and contact information
- Which artwork you are interested in bidding on
- Whether you would prefer telephone or proxy bidding
We will then work with you to complete the necessary arrangements before auction night.
Please do not wait until the auction has started to contact us. Advance registration will help us make sure your bid can be handled properly during the live event.
