Margaret Ann Jensen

A Breath of Wyoming Summer

Underwritten by Nolene Wright

About the Artist

Margaret Ann Jensen creates artwork that invites people to slow down and notice the beauty woven into the world around them. Her work often centers on flowers, birds, and western landscapes, with a focus on color, light, and the quiet emotion nature can evoke. Through both painting and sculpture, she strives to create pieces that bring viewers a sense of peace, comfort, and connection.

A graduate of both Casper College and the University of Wyoming in graphic design and art education, Margaret began her creative career as a graphic artist for Sports, Inc., designing advertising and logos. After returning home to care for her father, she began learning sculpture alongside him while continuing to pursue painting and teaching.

Margaret later taught K–12 art in Glendo and Chugwater while earning her Master’s Degree in Integrated Arts from the University of Montana. Her work has since been featured in public art projects across the region, including traffic box art installations in Lakewood, Colorado, murals in Belmar’s Retail Window Art Project, a painted fiberglass boot in Rock Springs, and a bus wrap selected by Alameda Connects.

In 2025, following the passing of her father, Margaret self-published JayJay and The Beautiful Creatures, a children’s book they wrote and illustrated together.

Today, she works as both a professional artist and sculptor while serving as a rural mail carrier in Wheatland, Wyoming

About the Pronghorn

A Breath of Wyoming Summer captures the quiet beauty of a Wyoming evening on the prairie. Painted in soft western tones, the piece features sweeping skies, sagebrush, open country, and the vivid red blooms of Wyoming’s state flower, the Indian Paintbrush.

Inspired by the stillness and peace found in the western landscape, Margaret’s pronghorn reflects the feeling of summer stretching across the prairie — warm light, distant horizons, and the calm that comes from simply being outdoors.

There’s a gentle serenity to this piece that feels unmistakably Wyoming.
