About the Pronghorn
The Watcher tells the story of Wyoming through the eyes of one of the West’s oldest and most enduring species: the pronghorn.
Using vivid color, layered imagery, and high contrast design, Rebecca created a piece that reflects the many eras and people that have shaped Wyoming’s history. Throughout the pronghorn are scenes and symbols inspired by the First Peoples, settlers, ranchers, railroads, wildlife, and the changing western landscape.
At the center of it all stands the pronghorn itself — quiet, observant, and unchanged through generations of history unfolding around it.
The piece combines contemporary color with historic storytelling, creating something that feels both ancient and modern at the same time. Rich textures, symbolic imagery, and vibrant transitions invite viewers to continue discovering new details the longer they spend with it.
Through The Watcher, Rebecca honors not only Wyoming’s past, but also the resilience of the land, its wildlife, and the people who continue to shape its story.
