What is the Rockpile Museum Association? It’s the museum, right? No, actually they are two separate entities entirely.
The RMA is a non-profit that was formed over 30 years ago to provide additional support to the Rockpile Museum, which is a municipal museum. The RMA fundraises for special projects, like the 5(!!) new museum cases set to arrive next month and the Homestead Shack that CCHS students are building that will be used to further the education mission of the museum.
The RMA also provides yearly summer interns to the museum to help relieve some of the workload from the incredible staff while also providing an opportunity for college and graduate students. And that barely scratches the surface of the RMA and its relationship with the Rockpile Museum.
