They’re finally all home.
Over the past several months, artists from across Wyoming have transformed ten life-size pronghorn sculptures into completely unique works of art, each telling a different story tied to Wyoming landscapes, heritage, wildlife, industry, culture, and community. This week, the 10th and final pronghorn officially arrived at the Rockpile Museum Association, completing the herd.
What started as an idea has quickly grown into a statewide community art project bringing together artists from Gillette, Wright, Wheatland, Lander, Cheyenne, Buffalo, and Greybull. From hand-painted Wyoming scenes and historic themes to deeply personal artistic interpretations, no two pronghorns are alike.
In the coming weeks, the full Parade of Pronghorns herd will begin appearing around the museum grounds for the public to enjoy together for the very first time. We cannot wait for the community to experience the scale, creativity, and personality each artist brought to the project.
The project will ultimately culminate in a fundraising auction supporting future Rockpile Museum Association programming, exhibits, and community initiatives. Alongside the pronghorns themselves, additional exhibit elements and auction experiences are now being developed to help create an immersive celebration of Wyoming art and identity.
This project would not have been possible without the support of our artists, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who believed in the vision from the beginning.
More details about public viewing opportunities, events, and the auction will be announced soon.
For now, we’re just excited to finally see the herd together.
