I am excited to introduce myself and my role with the RMA. First of all, I am deeply rooted in Campbell County history as I am fourth generation Campbell County, raising the fifth through my three kids. My family roots have 6 generations who have called Campbell County home. When I travel anywhere outside of this area that is a rarity, but I see so many deep rooted Campbell County families choosing to come back home and raise the next generation here.
Many of you might recognize me from my previous life of a brick-and-mortar retail owner on Gillette Avenue. After nine years, I closed Magpie Designs in December of 2023. After announcing the closure of the store, the opportunity to help strengthen and grow the RMA as its manager/executive director was presented to me. So far, it has been fun to try something new but still within my wheelhouse of strengths. I enjoy learning more about the history of this community and the people who built it while advocating for the museum and creating a wave of new members that help preserve the rich history rooted here. Without the museum, who would tell the stories?
I am passionate about Campbell County and giving back to the community that raised me. I have always loved that I could go into the Rockpile Museum and see my history on the walls.
